Chapter 1, Page 1
 
     It was a dark night as I walked around the graveyard. As I walked, I heard noises like a never heard before. Then I saw a shadow in the distance. I stopped and tried to see what it was, but all I saw was a figure. Not a normal figure an odd-shaped figure. So I turned and ran back to my house.

     I looked around but didn't see anything, I couldn't tell which way it was coming from either. It was getting louder and louder, echoing through the trees. I tried to see if I could see anything again, but nothing. All I could think it could be was the dark figure from the graveyard or some other evil thing. Before I would of never thought such things, I would pf said it is just kids beating a tree or a worker banging on wood. But now I was thinking so many things I was making myself even more scared. I pulled free from Shannon's grasp and told her to run. We turned and ran towards the way we came. I wished I could hear the baby deer running or the birds singing, but all I heard was the loud banging and the sound of our feet hitting the ground as we ran. Then I stopped, Shannon running into my back. She started to yell telling me to go until she saw why I stopped. The woods was gone from in front of us, it was darkness, No houses across the street and no street to cross. We looked around and noticed that the dark was starting to cover the whole woods.
